Evaluation of Biometric System - Eye Iris Technology

This thesis briefly describes basic biometric terms, a brief history of biometrics, biometric system and its performance and characteristics. Basic principles of iris recognition technology are also discussed. Finally, this thesis describes tests performed on various iris recognition systems and sums up the results.

Unsupervised Evaluation of Speaker Recognition System

Tato práce je vystavěna nad moderním systémem pro rozpoznávání mluvčího (SID) založeného na x-vektorech. Cílem bakalářské práce je navrhnout a experimentálně vyhodnotit techniky pro evaluaci SID systému za použití audio nahrávek bez anotace tj. bez znalosti mluvčího. Pro tento účel je z každé nahrávky bez anotace vytvořen embedding. Ty se poté používají pro shlukování nahrávek a následné vytvoření pseudo-anotací. Na těchto anotacích se SID systém evaluuje pomocí equal error rate (EER) metriky. Za účelem vytvoření pseudo-anotací byly navrženy tyto shlukovací algoritmy učení bez učitele: K-means, Gaussian mixture models (GMM) a aglomerativní shlukování. Po testování vyšel jakožto nejlepší experimentální postup K-means se Silhouette metrikou, která používá kosinovou podobnost jako míru vzdálenosti. Nejlepší metoda dosáhla 5,72 % EER s referenčním EER = 5,15 %, které bylo spočítané se znalostí anotace na části datasetu SITW dev-core-core. Podobné výsledky byly získány na části datasetu SITW eval-core-core s odhadnutým EER = 5,86 % a referenčním 5,08 %. Rozdíl mezi hodnotami tvoří 0,57 % pro eval-core-core a 0, 78% pro dev-core-core. Další testy na NIST SRE16 a VoxCeleb1 datasetech byly provedeny za účelem ověření správnosti navrženého postupu. Obecně se dá říct, že navržený testovací postup měl chybu přibližně 1 %, což je poměrně dobrý výsledek pro algoritmus učení bez učitele.

The thesis is focused on employees motivation and evaluation in selected company. The theoretical part qualifies basic concepts from the literary sources related to the topic. The practical part analyses the motivation and staff evaluation, assessment of the current state within picked company and survey of employees opinion on used forms of motivation based on performed empirical investigation. The conclusion of this thesis is evaluation of the current state and proposals and recommendations on improvements.

This work is focused on motivating and evaluating employees in a gastro company, analysis of these activities and their effect on staff behavior to corporate finance and property in general. The first part describes theoretical background issues, basic concepts and their relationships. Then where is the problem thoroughly analyzed and practical examples of problems and their current solution are included. After this comprehensive introduction to the topic, new solution will be proposed, which would have the maximum possible effect through theoretical knowledge, logical reasoning, and ultimately practical experience and analytical calculations.

The objective of this thesis concerns the issue of motivation and evaluation of staff at the Žerotín School of Music in Olomouc. In the theoretical part, we show the concepts and theoretical principles which are necessary for processing the subsequent analytical part. In the analytical part of the work we will then present information about the Zerotin School of Music, and we will discuss the evaluation system and employee motivation. This thesis will conclude by making suggestions for improvements to existing procedures. The outcome of this work is to evaluate motivation and evaluation of staff at the Žerotín School of Music and make recommendations which will lead to employees being more satisfied and motivated.

The submitted diploma thesis deals with the issue of motivation and evaluation of employees of the researched company. The thesis is devided into three parts. The first part diploma thesis focuses on the description of the incentive system from a theoretical perspective. The second part focuses on research and description of actual payment mechanisms and opportunities for personal development in the company. Based on the results of the half-structured interviews from the second part are in the last section suggested possible improvements or potential solutions of identified problems.

The theoretical part of the master thesis focuses on a detailed description of all issues related to the given subject. The practical part shows an analysis of the current situation in the field of employee motivation and appraisal at Zebra Technologies. The aim of the thesis is to propose appropriate changes based on the theoretical knowledge and the survey results. These changes shall lead to increasing employee motivation and shall help improve non-financial employee appraisal system. The thesis was processed for the local HR department and will be used as a groundwork for possible changes at the branch in the Czech Republic.
